You can generally draw your deferred benefits at the same age as you would have done had you stayed in the Scheme. The exact details will depend on the rules that were in place at the time you left, but generally this means:
From 60: you don't need permission from your old employer.
From 50: only if you have permission from your old employer.
It is also possible to draw your deferred benefits at any age on the grounds of ill health. But this must be approved by your old employer, and you will not be awarded any extra years.
If you move house, please remember to let us know, so we can keep in touch with you - something that’s especially important when you come to draw your benefits! You can contact us by email, in person, by phone, or by letter.

Each year we will send you a statement showing the up to date value of your deferred benefits, plus news of any relevant changes in the Scheme rules. Once again not all rule changes apply to all members, so we will only write to you if the changes apply to you.
You won’t lose your benefits - we will still pay out a lump sum, and pensions for dependants.
