How will going on strike affect my contributions?
Contributions will not automatically be taken while you are on strike. But you can choose to make contributions to cover the break – if you want to do this, you must let your employer know in writing within 30 days of coming back to work. The cost to you will be 16% of the pay you would have received had you not been on strike. If you do not pay contributions to cover the strike absence, your strike days will not count in any way towards your pension. |
