On 28 November to 9 December 2011, the United Nations Climate Conference took place in Durban.
The “Global Investor Statement on Climate Change” (the Statement) was produced by a collection of bodies representing institutional investors from around the world, setting out their perspective on climate change and the key elements of a global agreement that will drive the financial flows necessary to address climate change. |

GMPF, as members of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, has signed up to the Statement, which had 285 signatories as at 19 October 2011. These signatories collectively represent assets of more than 20 trillion US dollars.
The Statement was presented to the 20 January 2012 meeting of the Ethics and Audit Working Group. It has been sent to policymakers globally and has also gained widespread press coverage. It was designed to influence decision makers ahead of the United Nations Climate Conference in Durban.
