You can join the Scheme any time before your 75th birthday. It doesn’t matter whether you are full time or part time, permanent or temporary you can join as long as you have a contract of 3 months or more.

But if you are part time, this can affect your benefits in various ways - these are highlighted throughout this website. If you work for one of our larger employers, like a local authority, they will bring you in automatically. If you work for an employer where membership isn't automatic, they will still give you the option of joining in many cases.
