When you can retire and draw your benefits

The Scheme’s normal retirement age is 65. But in practice, people retire and draw their benefits for all kinds of reasons and at all kinds of ages. There are often quite specific rules relating to each type of retirement, so this section looks at the different ways of retiring, and the implications.

You can draw your benefits before age 65 if you have at least 3 months’ membership or you have brought in a transfer from another scheme.
